Geographical inaccuracies you cant shake
by GabeAthouse inwhere your mental image of a place does not match up with where you intellectually know it actually is?
1. great britain: i always picture it to the west of france.
if i'm reading about the norman invasion or d-day i always see it in my head as crossing the channel east-west / west-east.

A new generation of anointed that will not pass away.
by Fisherman inobviously, the older “ anointed ” from 1914 died.
and because they were anointed, they hopefully went to heaven.
in the first century though, a newer generation did not replace the old.

Fisherman - there is one born every minute. The question is are you naive enough to fall for the dawn of the latest spin/story?
Here's a quote from this website 14 years ago, by Athanasius. Note DAWN Bible Student. The dawn of what exactly? The dawn of a new tall story about pyramids.
Athanasius14 years ago
After leaving the JWs I attended a few Dawn Bible Student meetings. It was not with the idea of joining their group but more of a historical interest to see if they were so violently anti-JW as the Watchtower claimed. The group I met with was very kind and never once mentioned the JWs except to say that one of the members of their group was an ex-JW. Anyway, their study books were Russell's Studies in the Scriptures, but the discussion was much more open than a Watchtower study at the KH. They also had birthday parties after the service.
However, not all Bible Student groups keep the 606 or 607 BC date. The Pastoral Bible Institute accepts 586 BC as the date for Jerusalem's destruction and the beginning of the Gentile Times. Of course RR is the resident Bible Student scholar and he has a wealth of information on the movement, its beliefs and its history. He has been very helpful in answering questions about Russell and the Bible Students.

Ding - they are back on the trollies in UK. I have already approached a few of them in a friendly but frank manner.
To one couple I said, "Jehovah is the true God."
The trolley man replied, "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."
I said, "there is no one like Jehovah."
Trolley man said, "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."
Then I said, "Jehovah created all things isn't that wonderful?"
He replied, "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."
I gave up after that. They really weren't interested in Jehovah. So I guess they have a new approach.

Assembly Dramas:They were so bad.... but.... you waited for them to break away from the monotony!
by RULES & REGULATIONS in.
you do remember the four day assemblies... sitting outdoors being fried in the sweltering heat, getting heat stroke in the middle of july in an outdoor baseball stadium.sitting outdoors from 9:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. was so much fun while you wore a suit, long sleeve shirt and a tie while your brain fried.
mom's who had children to take care of,lug strollers, feed all the kids, take them for bathroom breaks and try to not faint from the heat.. the sound and audio was always breaking and barely audible from the wind, airplanes flying over and (if you attended the cicero, illinois circuit )you would smell horse manure from the horse stables next door.. you know that you are a jehovah's witness.... when the only excitement waiting for the drama... where brothers and sisters dress up in ancient cloths, fake beards, fake rocks and fake soldier uniforms and wave their hands incessantly to pretend that they are acting out a drama.the excitement was unbearable!.

You know, I don't I ever waited for an assembly drama. I was always SO tired I fell asleep at assemblies. Once I was nice and comfy on a cushion, on the steps of a football stadium. All curled up at the feet of an elder (who had a chair, I didn't). I was still fairly new and he obviously felt I ought to wake up. So he started tipping nuts in my skirt. I was quite fed up. Ate a few nuts and went back to sleep.
As the years went by I progressed to finding an actual chair and sleeping through a good 60% of the assemblies.

TV and the Media
by punkofnice ini look at tv and the media as all fiction.. i wonder if the media is now just a tool to cauterise the brain and zombify us?
i'm sure the uk's bbc does.
it seems to be a tool to brainwash people to buy into latest agenda or trend that must be followed.....or you're an outcast like a disfellowshipped one.

Punk - no not that one. He was very, very anti drugs. What I did notice was that a lot of these media people were into astrology, spiritism and homosexuality. Not all, but there was a very strong influence of that stuff. And people weren't that fussed about extra-marital affairs.

That's worse than 'rice Christian' tactics!
If you watch the end of this movie, at the end the man says to his wife, "even you were given to me". Ie to keep him in check. I wonder how many this has happened to in WT. I can think of at least one it might have happened to.

I was going to be a journalist. I did work experience with the local rag. They asked me to write up the sightings of some men covered in china clay dust as a ghost story. When I queried this (because it was a pack of lies) I was laughed at and scorned. For that reason I felt journalism was not for me as I am not a liar.
Later I got to know some journalists and I told one of them that I had wanted to a journalist. He told me I didn't drink enough to be a journalist. He wrote up stuff for the Daily Mail plus plenty of others.

UK Gov literature states that symptoms of long Covid are fatigue and brain fog. Sounds like the perfect excuse for never attending.
